Our client was involved in a car accident, but it was not a standard accident, as this accident involved a hit-and-run. Our client was driving down Desert Inn Road in Las Vegas, and another vehicle sped past our client, lost control of their vehicle, and slammed into our client. Our client was hit so hard that he was pushed into the center retaining wall, which caused injuries and major damage to our client’s vehicle. Thankfully, our client was driving a Tesla, and he had the cameras on the car. With those cameras, we were able to view other vehicle hitting our client’s car. Even with the cameras on the Tesla, we were not able to get the license plate of the vehicle that hit our client. Thankfully, our client had uninsured insurance on his own car insurance policy. Since this was a hit and run and since our client had uninsured insurance, we pursued his uninsured insurance. Our client sustained many injuries in the accident, including injuries to his shoulder, knee, neck, and back. By providing the medical bills and records of our client’s injuries to his own car insurance (under his uninsured insurance coverage), we were able to settle the case, get our client’s medical bills paid, and get our client additional compensation for all of his pain and suffering. This is a good reminder of the importance of carrying uninsured/underinsured insurance (UIM) on your own car insurance.
