Close-up of a human leg showing a fresh, red dog bite wound with multiple punctures

We represented two sisters who were injured when bitten by a dog.  One of the sisters has special needs, so she is confined to a wheelchair. The two sisters were coming out of their apartment one day, and while one sister was pushing her other sister in a wheelchair, a dog from a nearby apartment ran up and attacked both of the sisters.  Since the sister with special needs could not do much to defend herself, the other sister stepped in and tried to defend the two sisters from the dog. The dog was still able to attack and bite both of the sisters before the dog’s owner could come out and get the dog under control.  In this situation, we pursued the renters’ insurance for the dog owner, and they accepted responsibility and settled the case for their full policy limits.
